The Short Guide To Converting Units of Measurement
By: Goaty, and Chikenator
This is gotta be easy. Conversion is our favourite topic. It can be confusing, but so much happier when you see the light. Dudes, you are gonna ǝʇɐɥ this lesson man.
One day, I passed by Herngy Werngy's table and saw a book. It said: How to Convert. Boring. Then, I came up with this: How to convert units of measurement for Dummies. I'm soooo proud of myself.
CONVERSION
A simple topic to learn
How do you convert? It is so simple when you familiarize yourself. Lets write down the units of measurement:
1 metre = 100 cm = 1/1000 km = 1000mm
1 hour = 60 min = 360s = 36,000 millisecs
These are the bare basics. You should know them by now. Now I shall give you the steps to doing it. They're easy too!
- The first thing you should always do when you convert is to have a good look at the number you are looking at. Who knows what stupid careless mistakes you can make?
- The number we are using now is fairly simple. 100m/hr
- Now, write down the measurements for the units. (written above)
- The way to do a correct conversion is step by step. Not as slow as a Leon, but not as hastily as Herngy Werngy.
- The question now is: Convert 1oom/hr into cm/min.
- The next step is to convert the number to the left.
- 100m = 10,000cm!
- Now for the number on the right.
- 1hr = 60min
- If you have done it correctly, should look a little something like this: 10,000cm/60min
- Oh NO! 60min is not 1min!
- Take it easy. Convert it into 1min...
- ...but don't forget to divide the other side too!
- It becomes like this: 10,000/60/min
- Simplify the other side too!
- And you should get a nice neat number of: 166 2/3cm/min.
- And that's how!
HOW SIMPLE!
THE END---------------------------------------------------------------------
